Sensitive Instrumentation

Tranzport engineered custom crating and shock-monitored transport for a shipment of precision instrumentation, delivering it calibration-ready on arrival.
About Project
A scientific equipment manufacturer needed to move a set of precision instruments to a customer site — equipment sensitive enough that a single hard jolt in transit could throw off calibration and force a costly re-certification. Tranzport worked with the customer's engineering team to design crating and a routing plan built around minimizing shock and vibration at every stage.
Challenge
- Extreme sensitivity to shock, vibration, and temperature swings
- Need for continuous chain-of-custody and handling visibility
- Standard freight handling equipment unsuitable for the cargo
Tranzport Solution
- Custom foam-lined crating engineered to the instruments' exact dimensions
- Shock and tilt sensors attached to the crate for in-transit monitoring
- Dedicated, air-ride equipped trucking for first- and last-mile legs
- Continuous chain-of-custody tracking from pickup to delivery
Results
The instruments arrived within tolerance and passed calibration checks on-site with no re-certification needed. Shock sensor data gave the customer documented proof of careful handling throughout the move.
